Sweet Savour

 “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: to the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 KJV


Every contribution in life and ministry commands commendation. Ordinarily, no one set out to labour for condemnation. Therefore, it is normal for everyone to struggle to project his own savour through the understanding of people for appreciation and commendation. And it is understandable why frustration often fills the air when our labour becomes unappreciated. For Apostle Paul, in relation to his labour of love over the church at Corinth, the source of the sweet savour is Christ and not man. The heart stays in the mood of gratitude when it made Christ the source of the sweet savour: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place”. Otherwise, all of life’s commitments to projects and opportunities in the family, workplace and in the society become distasteful; and sour savour bears glory to God. As a sweet savour of Christ in every relationship, we can weather all storms of misunderstanding and misrepresentation in order to remain God’s battle ax and weapons of war until victory is ascertained.

Omni- Obedience

  “ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled .” II Corinthians 10 : 4 - 6 NKJV There is no better reference to the scriptural punishment of all disobedience when our obedience is fulfilled than omni- obedience.
