Truth Thrust
“And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.” Matthew 28:8-10 KJV
While the intended thrust of truth is freedom and not fear, the resurrection story of Jesus Christ brought the strange dynamics of fear and great joy down the spine of the women who were at the sepulchre for a repression story. Obviously, fear is evidence of lack of faith. Faith in the promises of God is bolstered by every believer’s encounter with truth. “Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me” is the fundamental truth thrust in our journey of faith. It implies that until we are confident to live daily to share the story about the resurrection power of Jesus and its consequences against the activities of the enemies within our sphere of influence, we are still ignorant of the truth. And it is important to note that at no time ever is the truth dependent on human feelings, capabilities, and limitations. Therefore, those who truly buy the truth and sell it not to fear and intimidation are living testimonies of the freedom and fullness in lives risen with Christ Jesus.
