Lord’s Light

 “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.” Ephesians 5:8-10 KJV

The people’s light comes with different kinds of colours. Sometimes, the spectrum of the people’s colour reflects gender, religious affiliation, ethnicity, political party or interests, business advantages, etc. Even in our churches and assemblies of the redeemed children of God, there are shades of grey with perspectives on issues of life and relationships. Unfortunately, Apostle Paul and the spirit of the Lord confronted believers with the necessity to always reflect the Lord’s light, rather than the people’s light. “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:“ implies that believers are redeemed by the grace of God to never reflect societal influences or sentiments. Sentiments on the basis of gender, religious affiliation, ethnicity, political party or interests, business advantages, etc, are the fruit of the flesh and not the spirit of the Lord. If anyone must thrive to please God always, he will be willing to submit all societal influences or sentiments on the altar of the love of Christ; bearing only the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1 : 1 - 2 , 6 KJV The problem with the concept of New Year resolutions is that the resolutions are results focussed, including new walkout goals, new diet habits, new relationship models for family, social, and workplace partners, etc. We know that these results resolutions are hard to keep and maintain with the best of human strategies.
