Gracious Gift

 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭6‬, ‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is no controversy on the fact that the greatest gift on earth is grace from God to man - that is God’s righteousness at Christ’s expense. And, the greatest gift on earth from man to man at its best will often want to undermine the power of grace, if unchecked. Therefore, the gracious gift is filled with the GIFT of God, including (G) the goodness of God, and not carelessly framed as the generosity of men; (I) the innocence from God, and not craftily formulated by the intelligence of men; (F) faith in God, and not really facts about God; and (T) the truth about God and godliness; and not about truce making among men and their greed. Any gift that is focussed on the activities of man, rather than resting on the finished work of grace, can only make anyone to sit in the earthly places of greed - i.e., guilt, reproach, enmity, envy, and deception. Whereas, the gracious gift from God is the only gift that made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; and there can be no lack, no loss, and no limitation with the gracious gift.

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1 : 1 - 2 , 6 KJV The problem with the concept of New Year resolutions is that the resolutions are results focussed, including new walkout goals, new diet habits, new relationship models for family, social, and workplace partners, etc. We know that these results resolutions are hard to keep and maintain with the best of human strategies.
