Gainful Gathering
“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.” Acts 16:9-10 KJV
Without the right vision about all the issues of life, it would not be surprising how life’s gatherings are doomed. For example, a wrong vision about political position as the king of Israel ruined the amazing promises of God to Jeroboam. Even the young prophet from Judah that carried the divine counsel to Jeroboam was deceived by wrong vision, and he ended up with the gross gathering of untimely death. Whereas, gainful gathering always starts with “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night”, and followed by “immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.” Even when the road appears stiff and tough, with painful delays and perplexing denials, any vision that is inspired by God and focussed on the expansion of the kingdom of God (i.e., righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost) is bound to end in prosperous destiny. In spite of the myriad of social media channels and the overbearing influence of visionless leaders, a gainful gathering is satisfied by the pursuit of precious seeds in the gospel of salvation.
