Life Laying
“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” John 10:14-15, 17-18 KJV
Life laying shows the greatest sacrifice of love, obviously different from the abuse of love with body laying. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son”…because of His voluntary response to the demand for life laying. And if life laying is simply love giving to the sheep, it is the only language for transformation of family and fellowship with love. Unfortunately, a thief has always been an agent of the enemy, whose mission is the use of body laying to scatter the sheep away from the fold of love. Whenever a gift is deficient in the transformative power of grace, its mission in any family and fellowship is often against the promotion of the true love of Christ. Whether in relationships between husband and wife, parents and children, partners in business, and co-workers in workplaces, life laying involves the sacrifice of God’s gifting in the believers’ family and fellowship with the world according to His purpose for the expansion of the kingdom of God.
