Creator’s Counsel
“I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: My reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:7-8 KJV
Motion is an inevitable evidence of human existence. So, when the psalmist declared “I shall not be moved”, it is necessary to acknowledge that physical motion is not intended. Like it happened to Job, life’s challenges and afflictions are the major causes of emotional disturbance and depression. And without an adequate and reliable support system, nobody can boldly declare “I shall not be moved”. In fact, some highly influential forces and principalities do readily boast of possessing the artificial control of the cause of other people’s emotional disturbance for the mere purpose of inducing their manipulation. Therefore, anyone whose response to any cause and effects are predictable can be manipulated. For example, Satan predicted the response of Job to God before unleashing his serial attacks and suffering; but he failed all those times because Job waited on God for counsel (even the counsels from his close friends turned out to be miserable!). Little wonder the psalmist gave us the only source of unshakable counsel. When the Creator of heaven and the earth is anyone’s counsellor, one can be sure that there is no cause for manipulation; God knows the end results of every element’s actions and inaction, and only His counsel can fix the puzzle.
