Breakthrough Blood

““And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ “Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil.” Ezekiel 16:6, 9 NKJV

Even in the Old Testament dispensation, the beast blood was preferred to the birth blood from any sinner. Despite the fact that you cannot atone for your sins and live to enjoy the atonement, a temporary cleansing by the blood of a blemish-free beast is needed to appeal for every sinner’s unrighteousness. And while “And when I passed by you and saw you struggling in your own blood” summarizes the ceaseless frustration of the human atonement plan in the Old Testament, the New Testament now offers ‘Live!’ Yes, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ to all who come to God by faith in the atonement or the breakthrough blood by Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, the struggle for relevance and righteousness through the birth blood (or the beast blood) is still rife among the seekers of grace today. It is always as though the blood of Jesus Christ can only give pardon from sin, but lacks the power to deliver the pardoned soul from pervasion and peril. Whereas, when the scriptures say “Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil”, it implies that the breakthrough blood is potent enough both to save anyone from sin and keep sin away from him.
