Right Race

“..and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.Leviticus 26:15-17 NKJV

The difference in a rat or right race is either the abeyance or preservation of the abiding rules. In rat races, rules are violated with a free-fall mentality to regulations, ethics, and code of conduct. As long as personal goals and ambitions are achieved, even at the expense of the common good of the nation and society, the rat races are concerned about who gets to the top first. But the right race is mostly concerned about the means in pursuit of fairness and justice along the way, not necessarily the aiming at the ends. For example, John and Elizabeth focussed on the right race in their service to the Lord in the temple, as “And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless (Luke 1:6)”, despite missing out in terms of their barrenness without any account of hesitation. Notwithstanding, even though it appears the ends arrived late, it still shows that the right race always attracts heaven’s attention for good. Whereas, God promises terror and exposure to evils from the enemies for those who engage in rat races. Actually, the scriptures attest to the fact that people who are engaged in rat races run aimlessly to attain worthlessness, especially in a wasteful competition for hopelessness.
