Primary Purpose

He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” I John 5:10-11 NKJV

From someone’s affirmation that ‘The two greatest days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why’, the purpose in the second day cannot be primary if the pursuit in the first day is not principal. While no one has the self-knowledge of the day of his natural birth, spiritual birth demands everyone’s conviction of his inner depravity and the relevance of eternal life. It implies that since these affirmed greatest two days in life can converge in the day we are ‘born again’, it becomes easy to know that finding eternal life is the primary purpose in life. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Whether through professionalism, parenting, or partnership, the primary purpose of every life’s engagement is the pursuit of the divine essence for granting the privilege, which is knowing Jesus and making Jesus known. Unfortunately, the replacement of the primary purpose of life with its secondary purposes is evidently a bankruptcy of priority, with the consequence of eternal damnation.
