Ruling Rod
“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!” Psalms 110:1-2 NKJV
While there is no doubt that the prophetic pronouncement of the Messiah’s dominion over all the antics of the enemies is centred at the right hand of the throne of grace, all the redeemed of the Lord have the same inheritance bequeathed by grace. The arch enemy of the righteous children of God understands who he is up against the moment the mercy and the grace of God are brought in. Unfortunately, most of us are often ignorant of the potency of our ruling rod in the battles of life. “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” appears to be a simple instruction from the Lord; but no, most of us always prefer to play games with the grace of God. Whenever believers sell their birthrights or pawn their ruling rod in the market of deceitful smartness, unrighteous manipulation, and unequal yoke, they actually accept to rot instead rule in the midst of their enemies. Whereas, Christ himself is the bearer and banner of every believer’s ruling rod against all the antics of the enemies; and the enemies know their failed fate as long as the righteous abide in grace.
