Strong Shield
“My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.” Psalms 73:26-28 NKJV
There is no need of grace for glory, if the race is not heavily marked with grossness. Given the reality of the failed flesh and heart of the psalmist, one can only imagine how difficult it is for anyone to go through life without access to divine shield and dependable strength. It is important for anyone to know that God is every believer’s strong shield. Unfortunately, those who put their confidence in worldly riches, wealth, and position may win the battle for the flesh; but they will run a seemingly successful race without God’s grace and glory. Also, the strength needed to overcome their subsequent emotional breakdown will fail. Anyone who cannot focus on the abundant strength of the Lord will attract negative strength and energies. Little wonder, the psalmist’s feet slipped before the unveiling of divine intervention and illumination. But those who put their trust in the Lord as got a reliable shield, against the fear of failure and disappointment.
