Wise Words
”To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.“ Proverbs 1:6-7 NKJV
If every word that led to the path of bread was considered wise, Jesus would have fallen into the temptation of Satan in His moment of need. ”Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’ ”“ (Matthew 4:3-4). It implies that foolish words can also bring bread; but this bread will turn a bait towards the captivity of the soul, and the selling of believer’s birthrights. According to the inspirational counsel, only the fear of the Lord can be used to filter every word to produce true wisdom. This fear of the Lord would focus on His commandments, commission, and concern, especially at the expense of personal comfort, consideration, and concern. Unfortunately, the enemy of our souls understands that man would not easily let go of his loyalty to the counsel of the Lord, unless his personal comfort, consideration, and concern are threatened. Therefore, many have fallen into the path of fools by despising wisdom and divine instructions. As we round up the Old Year in preparation for the New Year, we need more grace to filter all words with the fear of the Lord; so we can approach new opportunities and accept new responsibilities with true wisdom.
