Body Building
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21 NKJV
Body building requires strenuous exercises and diligent commitment to training schedules. Those who understand the benefits, particularly in terms of attractions of lovers and offensive disposition, do not mess around the calls for focus. Likewise, the body of believer is the temple of God, needing focus on the resources from Heaven for its building. “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith“ suggests the uncompromising passage to the throne of grace…your most holy faith. Faith keeps the heart trusting in God through consistent prayer, even when the realities on the ground suggests the opposite. Maintaining the presence of God at home, workplaces, and among the circle of friends, is a courtship between God and man in the atmosphere of love. But through patience and diligence of the spirit, believers can continue to add the virtue to faith, knowledge to virtue, self-control to knowledge, perseverance to self-control, godliness to perseverance, brotherly kindness to godliness, and love to brotherly kindness.” Those who keep themselves in the love of God, while still looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life, do not joke with the demands of body building through fasting and prayer.
