Holy Heritage
“They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will change them, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will have no end. The children of Your servants will continue, And their descendants will be established before You.”” Psalms 102:26-28 NKJV
When the scriptures posited children as the heritage of the Lord, it portends parenting as the most privileged project on earth to sustain the legacy of holiness. Every other project on earth has time stamps; but hear this “The children of Your servants will continue, And their descendants will be established before You”. Why is that? The virtue of holiness in any descendant retains the presence of God from generation to generation. Unfortunately, every attempt to build something else at the expense of sustaining holiness has always breeds pride, arrogance, and wickedness that evicts man away from the presence of the Lord. And like the Lord warned man from the beginning “but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die’”(Genesis 3:3). Even today, it is always easier for man to pursue unholy heritage with all appearances of pride, prestige, and position seeking; instead of holy heritage through obedience to the Lord and consistent fellowship in His presence.
