Special Stakes

 “Also today the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken” Deuteronomy‬ ‭26:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

High stakes in career and professional lifestyle have common metrics for recognition. While celebrities and high performance figures in our world can indulge in character flaws until they are caught, God’s special people cannot afford to compromise the heavenly stakes for recognition. They are so proclaimed special, both in charisma and character, to the Lord their GOD and for Him alone. Unfortunately, when the people eventually get the charisma right by human recognition, in praise, in name, and in honour, they often tend to ignore the stake for holy character. Whereas, the special stakes for God’s special people is for both the charisma and character; and more so “that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken”. Little wonder, Job got into trouble with the Devil because of God’s account of his holding on to the stake of integrity and faithfulness to God. But at the end, it was evident that God will set on high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honour, those who confidently recognize holiness as part of His special stakes.

Best Bride

Honourable Honesty

  “ Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord! ” Psalms 149 : 5 - 9 NKJV In seasons of afflictions and persecution from a culture of dishonesty, “ Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds ” appears distasteful.
