Progressive Pilgrims

“Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,” ‭‭Titus‬ ‭1:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/tit.1.1-2.nkjv
Whether for the worse or for the better, the character of man is greatly affected by the events of time. Interestingly, godly character is designed to be developed within a perfect combination of good and bad times. For Paul who (in his supposedly good times as bondmaster) perfectly understands what it takes to be the bondservant of man, faith, truth, and hope are three major ingredients for a progressive pilgrim on the pathway of time. Faith in God’s presence at all times, truth about God’s preferences before the events of time, and hope in God’s promises after the end of time provided a perfect understanding of the vision that was revealed unto him after his conversion. Little wonder, he described himself as the bondservant of God; and not the victim of circumstances created by man. When the scriptures say that all things work together for good to them that are called according to His purpose, it implies that faith, truth, and hope in God’s calling always produce good, irrespective of the uncertain dynamism in time. God, who cannot lie at anytime (and not the expected good in time) is the only anchor of faith, truth and hope for all progressive pilgrims.
