Treasured Time
“O LORD, be gracious to us; We have waited for You. Be their arm every morning, Our salvation also in the time of trouble...Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure.”
Isaiah 33:2, 6 NKJV

Men naturally appreciate the triumph times and dislike the troubled times. But hardly can a worthwhile triumph time comes before a worrisome troubled time. For example, an enduring 9 months of conception is climaxed with a travailing labour before the joy of a newborn baby is birthed. Although a prayer of distress in troubled times is tempted to ignore the fact that all agents of trouble and pain in the affairs of believers’ career, family and ministerial life are instruments in the hands of God, a thoughtful heart would always extend its appreciation to troubled times. The virtue of patience often comes through disappointments and delay; the gift of wisdom and knowledge comes through repeated failed projects and unyielding investment of time, talent, and treasure; and sometimes, the reliable breakthrough comes after repressive breakups. Yet, the treasure in troubled times is not the frustration from pain, failure, and disappointment; it is the precious and intimate fellowship with God.
