Gracious Grants

 “Let not thine heart envy sinners: But be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; And thine expectation shall not be cut off.” Proverbs 23:17-18 KJV

In our highly competitive and performance-driven world, the greedy grants from sinners do readily provoke envy, jealousy, and bitterness. Oftentimes, pay rises, workplace  recommendation, family treat, professional appraisal, etc, would come cheap and clean only for compromisers; and consecrated Christians will be asking questions. It is always important to note that greedy grants are popular because they are usually glamorous, randy, entertaining, exorbitant, dreadful, and yield-enforceable. Whereas, besides appearing like losers, gracious grants require patient perseverance and waiting upon the Lord; while instant gratification will continually be popular among men. Actually, the grants from the throne of grace are focused on the means, rather than just getting distracted by the ends. The gifts and grants from above must be generous, righteous, accommodating, consecrated, inspiring, obedient, upright, and submissive to God. When a believer’s grants and expectations are solely from the Lord, the harvest of the greedy grants from the enemies will not result or lead the heart of man into compromise. Obviously, we all need grace from the Lord on a daily basis to never ever give up for greedy grants, while waiting patiently for the manifestation of His gracious grants.

Righteous Resolution

  “ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1 : 1 - 2 , 6 KJV The problem with the concept of New Year resolutions is that the resolutions are results focussed, including new walkout goals, new diet habits, new relationship models for family, social, and workplace partners, etc. We know that these results resolutions are hard to keep and maintain with the best of human strategies.
