Christlike Content
”There they are in great fear Where no fear was, For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you; You have put them to shame, Because God has despised them. Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.“ Psalms 53:5-6 NKJV
Wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom from fear and the capacity to fully trust in Christ’s settled victory at Calvary. Therefore, fear does not only bring torment; it is simply the fool’s expressions appearing rational. The Christlike content in Caleb made him stand tall against the mountain of Hebron and the children of Anakim at age 85. Little wonder the courageous capacity of Caleb inspired Othniel and many others who joined hands with him to drive out the enemies. Unfortunately, the lots of many fearful and unbelieving Christians are not so. They readily embraced panic attacks where there is no cause for alarm. Truthfully, the apparent delays before the manifestation of victory in every believer’s affairs is not a sufficient cause for alarm. They are often the necessary proofs of believers’ Christlike content, and their readiness to give all the glory to the Lord. The absence of Christlike content in every believer makes him a fool; and it is just normal for fools to exhibit great fear in the absence of fear.
