Peace Pursuit

““ There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.””

If the pursuit of peace is synonymous to the race for riches, the poor will be forever alienated from the commonwealth of peace. Notwithstanding, everyone is in the race for peace at home, workplace, and in the society; but true peace is alien to most of the people with desperate mindset on this blessing from God. Why? The Giver of peace says “There is no peace on the shelf reserved for the wicked” or “The peace on the shelf is only reserved for the righteous”. Unfortunately, not many people can read this clear handwriting on the wall. People does engage in several peace deals with swift strategies on cutting corners,  bribery and corruption, cheating and lies, backbiting and covetousness, etc, only to accumulate wealth that brings no peace of mind. When frududent people hear their President say "There is no peace for the wicked", they know how to engage the afront with 'no peace' confrontation until the state backdown. Whereas, when God say "There is no peace for the wicked", you better be righteous. Therefore, the wise understands the futility of searching for peace instead of pursuing righteousness. It is instructive to note that true peace is the birthright of those who live for the pursuit of righteousness in all relationships.
