Fruitful Freedom

Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee. O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.” Isaiah 33:1-2 KJV

Freedom from danger and the challenges of life is sweet, but the fruitfulness of the story of freedom is sweeter with privileges and opportunities for the expansion of the kingdom of God. Sometimes, God will carefully orchestrate fruitful freedom by His accommodation of (1) fellowship through frustrations; (2) righteousness from retributions; (3) uprightness in upheavals; (4) integrity amidst iniquities; (5) truth from tribulations; (6) faithfulness amidst frivolity; (7) understanding amidst unrighteousness; and (8) love despite looseness. Therefore, the fruitful freedom of believers is resident in privileges and opportunities for the possession of Christ, and not necessarily the dispossession of crisis. Christ is every believer’s Sun and Shield. He gives grace and glory for the manifestation of the fruitful freedom through his unpleasant moments. And when He said “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (freedom)”, He often refers to the believer’s fruitfulness of “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me.”…ye shall find rest (freedom) unto your souls.
