Right Riches

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.” 2 Corinthians 8:1-2 KJV

The dynamics of riches have taught us that the opposite of grace is greed. Without grace in the pursuit of riches, it becomes evident that we have bad riches in the focus of greed. These will definitely be bad riches with bitterness and betrayals, arrogance and animosity, and deception and destruction. Whereas, by using the model of riches in the churches of Macedonia, right riches are full of the righteousness of God, integrity with God, grace of God, excellence in God, and truth about God. Therefore, the currency of right riches is not in the capital; but surely in the character. That is why even when capital is liquidated by a great trial of affliction, an incredible test of faith, a gruesome measure of disappointment, a horrible display of wickedness, and a terrible account of dishonesty, a character powered by the grace of God remains resolute with its conviction. Those who truly trust and love the Lord operate under the economy with right riches; there is always no liquidity of grace in hearts where love flows with liberality.
