Glory Gift
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Romans 4:16, 20-21 KJV
Abraham has remained every believer’s father of faith for a reason: “he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God”. Our glory gift to God is always the best expression of appreciation for His love. Therefore, every believer’s faith and persuasion on the fulfillment of God’s promises is a glory gift. And just as Abraham did, we can endure pain, persecution, and pressures against pleasure for the sake of holding unto the promises of God. It implies that the alternatives to a persuasive faith in God is a glory gift to all competitors or the enemies of God and attackers of His revealed will and counsels. When we stagger at the promise of God through the subtle consideration and submissions of nay sayers, economic or financial reports, associates or partners’ reassessments of divine counsels, and the setting up of administrative bottlenecks, unfavourable government policies, what we are actually saying is “I understand that God has made the promise, but let’s package a glory gift for these gods for a right of passage “. Whereas, God will rather pass and endure patience on our faithless presentation of empty praises, than to share His deserving glory gift from the beloved and persuasive saints with another else.
