Mightier Mercy

The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; And in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! For the king trusteth in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.” Psalm 21:1, 7 KJV

Giving the authority and dominion of kings, those who trust in a king are protected from commoners’ harassment. Notwithstanding, the strength of any king is measured by the size of its ammunition and military might. It does imply that mercy from any king is limited. For example, those who trust in the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, in pursuit of the advancing children of Israel out of Egypt suffered suffocation and death in the Red Sea. Therefore, when the psalmist and a king in Israel said “The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD“, he acknowledged the mightier mercy of the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Trust in the mightier mercy promised by the Lord always starts with the acknowledgment of our inadequacies and shortcomings. It is only those who are protected by the mightier mercy from the King of kings and Lord of lords that are unmovable in any onslaught of evil and stroke of destruction.
