Great Gain
“And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.” Mark 5:18-20 KJV
If possession by the devils is a great loss, possession by the Lord Jesus Christ is definitely a great gain. Unfortunately, those who haven’t grasped the scope of the great gain are necessarily possessed with the fear of invasion. When the people of the country of the Gadarenes initially encountered the deliverance of the man previously possessed by the Legion of evil spirits, the scriptures say “And they began to pray him (Jesus) to depart out of their coasts” because of their fear of reprisals from the power of darkness. Even the freed man would not leave Jesus, not because of His love for the Saviour, but because of his fear of the Devil. “Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee”. A perfect appreciation of the great gain from Christ gives a perfect understanding of the great loss by the Devil and all the activities of his agents. Therefore, faith in the complete work of grace brings great gain with complete freedom from satanic affliction and manipulation. And through every believer’s work engagements, social enlightenment, and ministerial affiliations, the great gain by the possession of the great grace brings nothing less than the great glory.
