Collateral Commitments

“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/pro.22.29.nkjv
Excellence in life and ministry demands great levels of commitment, including the listening, hearing, and believing levels of commitment. However, many average people aspire success at the level of listening, and a few fraction of these people reach further to the level of hearing. Listeners attend seminars and workshops for motivational talks on success principles, but they never pay attention to the perceived rhetoric. Their minds are shaped by their low self-esteem and lack of confidence in the possibility of a change in status. Whereas, hearers' conviction in the principles of success is not commensurate with the expected commitment. Meanwhile, kings in most fields of endeavours are attracted to those who have paid the price of disciple, determination, and diligence; but the deeper commitment will demand either a loss of absolute trust in God, or a demonstration of absolute confidence in God - as the only Source of success. Commitment to the god in success demands the worship of those who must be rich or excel at all cost, irrespective of the possibility of signing away their souls. Whereas, commitment to the God of success does not compromise its faith in God as collateral to the unbelieving (unknown) kings in the society and workplaces.
