Meek’s Mess
”For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.“ Psalms 37:10-11 NKJV
When the Lord in His sermon on the mount says ”Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5), everyone knows that the mess, referenced in the ‘inherit the earth’, is often appeared more physical than spiritual. The mess is usually calibrated with the earth’s wicked activity, including cheating, stealing, and killing. But the believers’ path to the abundance of peace is usually not about living, but it is about learning. This includes the ability to be quiet and long suffers, through learning from the Lord: ”Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:29). Therefore, the meek’s mess always makes beauty out of the ashes of wickedness through the improved access to the grace of God. It is a wonderful feeling of the abundance of peace when the people of God can anchor on the Lord’s learning curves to find heaven's rest in the earth’s restiveness.
