Minister’s Memoir
“For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:10-12 NKJV
Our world is blessed by great men and women with great memoirs. And most of these memoirs are influenced by the cash and carry of celebrities, men of timber and calibre, and adorable social influencers. Unfortunately, not many of these memoirs are satisfactory to either the personalities in question or their God. As I personally reflected on the admonition of Apostle Paul to the Hebrews, I remembered the last words of my late mother “I am satisfied!”. This poor woman had no fortune to transcribe those three words into a great memoir for publication in this world’s famous billboards, magazines, and books of records; but I believe that heaven can attest to the grip and depth of the three words. Obviously, Paul wrote to the Hebrews from the prison and counting days to his martyrdom. If he was confident in his admonition that “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister”, there is no doubt he was confident of his own memoir as a minister. As we continue to serve God and humanity through our services at home, workplaces, and through social engagements, let’s be sure to be satisfied as God by our memoirs.
