Rock Rooted

Anyone who is on dietary plan understands the struggle in relinquishing the lordship of the tastebud to someone who care little about the feeling of the body. For example, the tastebud feels satisfied with its power to attract the consumption of raisin-based cereal compared to all-bran cereal, even when the body is collapsing under the threat of diabetes. Likewise, the fashion, custom, entertainment, and social attractions of this world have strong hold on the sense of freshness and fulfillment in this life, even when the soul of man is conscious about the danger of losing its eternal security. Before rounding up the interesting seminar session with the Lord Jesus Christ, the attention of the disciples were drawn to the danger of falling into the temptation of a ‘raisin-rooted’ and intensive social system of the world outside the seminar room. It is not enough to declare the lordship of Jesus in the midst of the fellowship of believers and embrace the lordship of the institutional corruption in our professional, social, and cultural practices. When the heart of a believer is sincerely rooted in the word of life, his body members are immune to the floods of unrighteous practices in the world of lust. Those who are rooted in the words of Jesus as the Rock of Ages are delivered from the danger of being washed away by the floods against all ‘raisin-rooted’ foundations.
