Chaotic Comfort
"And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.”...And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.”

Justification for chaotic situations and circumstances in all affairs of life, like the catastrophe caused by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and most of the developed nations' territories and Virgin Islands, are always difficult to explain, especially when victims are engulfed while on goodwill missions for humility and humanity. Oftentimes, believers appear to be ignorant of the devices of the enemy and his corresponding evil missions. While Paul was carried away with the mission to leave a parting note of confidence and comfort in God's abiding presence with the brethren in Troas, the enemy was cooking up the strategy for distractions, destruction, and discouragement. Although Eutychus turned out as the scapegoat, Paul was able to seize the power of God to turn the chaotic situation into a great comfort scenario. The devil is always the author of confusion and catastrophe, but God never lose the power to turn every ugly situation in life into a moment of great joy. Therefore, the secret of great joy and comfort is the ability to stand on God's purpose and promises in our moments of pain and confusion. After all, comfort from chaos is really the comfort indeed.
