Rest Race

“ Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law, That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.” Psalms 94 : 12 - 13 NKJV Life’s race (work, relationship, partnership, career development, etc) can be full of either rest or restiveness, depending on who is always in charge. When a man’s heart is taught by his intelligence, aspirations and drives, he is bound to learn how to demonstrate mastery over the inevitable adversity in life, family, and society. Unfortunately, this restive race of life often lead many into depression, suicide, and death because the mastermind for adversity is centred on nothing good but theft, death, and destruction. However, when the scriptures say “ Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest ( Matthew 11 : 28 )”, it implies that  the design of the Almighty God in life’s travesty of adversity is rest and peace with Him. All that the heart needs ...

Pure Punishment

“ O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud .” Psalms 94 : 1 - 2 NKJV The book of Judges displayed a series of judges and counter judges among the people of Israel and their enemies, depending on the switch in states between “ Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord” and “ …and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord” . When we cry unto man as judge, we end up with proud punishment; but when we cry unto God as the Judge, we get pure punishment. Invariably, at any time a man takes the judgement seat, there is always the temptation to be proud, thinking vengeance belongs unto me. Whereas, the psalmist’s understanding that “ O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs“ sustains the hope in the existence of pure punishment from the Lord. The tenure with proud punishment from man is highly deceptive, and many unsuspecting children of God are often carried ...

Hallowed Holiness

“ The floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier Than the noise of many waters, Than the mighty waves of the sea. Your testimonies are very sure; Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever.” Psalms 93 : 3 - 5 NKJV “ Holiness adorns Your house, O Lord, forever ” agrees with the French philosopher’s (Blaise Pascal) account on the three orders of greatness, i.e., physical greatness, mental greatness, and holiness, that the third order is the highest. While the first order on physical greatness prides itself on riches, beauty and strength, the second order on mental greatness prides itself on intelligence, science, and art. These prides are the cause of the psalmist’s reference “ The floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves“ . Actually, the essence of life is everyone’s reference and response to these prides or floods at home, workplac...

Healed Home

“ Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. ”  Proverbs 19 : 20 - 21   Everyone knows that the sum total of life is the building of a good name and the leaving of a good legacy. The foundation of this house is not built with material wealth, social networking and political connections, but rather the inspiration of the Lord. No doubt that Solomon was blessed with wisdom and wealth for an excellent building of a physical house; but he messed up the expected focus on the foundation of the true house, i.e. his heart. Money can buy a house, but not a home. However, when we “ Listen to counsel and receive instruction “ from the Lord always, we can be guaranteed divine inspiration and wisdom on how to access a healed home in any hostile house. Our broken world and corrupt society are bound to serve hostility because of the depravity of sin. Wher...

Fruitful Flourish

“ The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,” . Psalms 92 : 12 - 14 NKJV “ The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree ” agrees with the reality of other types of flourishing for the unrighteous in our world. Those who care less about the ‘how’ and ‘means’ of flourishing are the desperate people for provision, prosperity, promotion, and protection in our societies, families, and institutions. Unfortunately, they freely sell their souls and eternity for peanuts in the light of the heavenly provision, prosperity, promotion, and protection in the courts of our God. Whereas, the righteous always would not mind the waiting time for the deep digging of the palm tree’s roots in the ground for sensitization, stability, and solidification of sincerity and steadfastness. Truth i...

Love Lift

“ But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” I Corinthians 2 : 9 , 16 NKJV It is instructive to note that Apostle Paul’s exhortation here is focussed on the mystery of God’s wisdom. Through love and the sacrifice of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, He conquered the power of sin and death. Now Christ is lifted up above principalities and powers, bringing all conflicting authorities into His obedience. And likewise with the mind of Christ,  believers are called into the supernatural lifting of the possibilities of love. The absence of the love of Christ in the heart exposes anyone into diverse manipulation and bondage by the enemies. Therefore, what the eyes can see in the physical, including hatred, unrighteousness, oppression, opposition, and wickedness, do have...

Loose Lane?

“ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”” Psalms 91 : 1 - 2 NKJV When Lot decided for the well-watered plain of Jordan or Sodom and Gomorrah, there wasn’t any doubt in his discretion or choice for the sweet place over the secret place. Even today, the secret place is mostly considered as the loose lane, ridden with long-waiting time or delay, disappointment, and discouragement. And when people say ‘ Heaven helps those who helped themselves ’, they actually means ‘ use your brain in career choices, project management, business or family partnership, etc’ because they suggest that waiting on God is synonymous to waiting on the prospects of the principalities around you. Whereas, “ Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (I Corinthians 1 : 25 )”, God’s supposed loose lane is actual...
