Breath Battle

”The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.“ ‭‭Job‬ ‭33‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ One of the best contest rings for the battle of breath is the engagement of Job and his miserable comforters. Everyone of his supposed friends struggles to wrestle the cause of Job’s suffering and predicament with united agreement in the justification of God and the condemnation of Job. Even while Job could not disagree with the justification of God, he was only bold with his refusal to accept the personal condemnation; but he could not underpin the cause. The last man standing in the ring after the futile cross examination of the three friends, Elihu, has even declared in the previous chapter that ” But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding ” (Job‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬). However, he apparently positioned himself as the one with the superior breath, based on his conviction on divine inspiration, in order to attract sympathy and attention. Truthfull...

Strong Support

” He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. “ Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Everyone knows that the stability of any man depends on his support system. People do invest strategically in building strong support systems and political networks, mainly in preparation for battles against the enemy or opposition. Unfortunately, no matter how strong the support system, human support systems can only stand for a short while. Students of history can attest to almost a similar rhythm with the rise and fall of kingdoms, thrones, and earthly political structures. But in all the ages past and present, the only support system that has withstood the test of time is the support system that is built on the Lord. While many religious people can readily fake confidence in God’s support...

Righteous Report

” The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire. He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered At Your rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils .“ Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ When the 12 spies were selected by Moses to embark on a 40 day exploration of the Promised Land, there was no iota of doubt in their competence to come back with an honest report. Unfortunately, most of them returned with an evil report because they believed that honest report is limited by their relationship with the elements in the Promised Land. And many of life’s lessons have taught the hearts of man that those who are limited by the facts before their physical eyes can never produce a righteous report in our world of oppression and intimidation. For example, David would have been a victim of evil rep...

Loving Lord

” Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.“ Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ The major reason for the romances (either secret or open) with the warring lords on earth is the skilfulness in terror  bullying. Right from elementary school, bullies know how to mess around with the focus of pupils and their ambitions or interests in the great learning and recreational programs of the school. Unfortunately, the fear of the sudden terror from bullies has now eroded the confidence of not just pupils in elementary schools. This fear is eroding the confidence of public servants in the civil service, social workers in the hospitality industry, and even volunteers in Christian ministries. Whereas, the only bailout option is the securing of confidence in the Lord. As freaky as it may sound, confidence in the Lord consumes all the sudden terrors of bullies. When the scr...

Distress Detours

” In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.“ Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ There is no doubt that one of the detours on the highway of pain and disappointment is depression and death. Yet, distress has often inspired intimate fellowship with God for some people, who have embraced their call into the ministry of leadership with divine purpose. For example, it appears that the distress of David was another version of his anointing into the leadership as the king of Israel. While it may appear to many others as a detour into bewilderment, bitterness, and betrayal, David said ” In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears” . It is in this special detour that David got the graphic understanding of God as the Deliverer, Rock, Fortress, Strength, and Stronghold. When believers are invited int...

Blind Brides

” So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him .“ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭32‬-‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ As we await the commencement of another GCK (Global Crusade with Kumuyi), it is not strange that not many people are prepared for the right response to “ What do you want Me to do for you?” . Just like the multitudes were instrumental to stopping the two blind men from approaching Jesus, people readily waste energies on mocking desperate seekers of divine manifestations to the problem of blindness. Meanwhile, we always all need divine illuminations to several problems of shortsightedness, misinterpretation, discouragement, and redundancy in our lives. Whereas, sincere seekers will take time to reflect on the right response to “ What do you want Me to do for you? ”, in order to enhance the grac...

Secured Souls

” Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings” Psalms‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ In a world ridden by constant confrontations, surrounded souls doesn’t seem to have any worthwhile engagement away from the strife. But in the shadow of God’s wings and being the apple of His eye, every surrounded, but privileged, soul can sincerely go to sleep. Here, there are lots for the secured souls to learn about the mercy, lovingkindness, and fellowship with God that cannot be liquidated by the activities of wickedness. Particularly, the benefit of abiding as the apple of God’s eye is the extension of God’s love to enemies of all secured souls. Unfortunately, while many villains have found freedom and forgiveness for their sins when they surrender to the Lord, some disobedient and ignorant folks have been crushed fatally by the wrath of God. ...
