Beyond the best of privileges in human relationships, the privilege of a dialogue with God represents a diligent discourse. Why?   “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord, Than great treasure with trouble.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ God has often admonished His people to have faith like the little lilies with perennial shadowy flowers, despite their insignificant strength and preparation. Unfortunately, human beings are wired to pride in the personal accumulation of their physical strength and material sufficiency. By trying to seek control, be in charge, and command attention to the system around our places of engagement, we often lose sight of the needed focus on the sovereignty of God. Even though king Solomon knew and prayed for a perpetual enthronement of God’s sovereignty, he couldn’t sustain the fear of the Lord amidst his friendship with the world. Even today, only those who can sustain the fear of the Lord amidst the deceitfulness of riches, worldly entertainment, and the desire for positions can flourish perpetually like the little lilies.
