Upward Uprightness

 “The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous. The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy.” Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭29‬-‭30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Uprightness, according to human intelligence, is rarely free from crookedness. Why? The system of this world is shrouded in wickedness, as “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭9‬)”. Therefore, only the power of prayer can deliver any regenerate heart from deceitfulness and unstable uprightness. Otherwise, the unguided hearts are easily polluted by the seemingly honest, loyal but bad reports of fellow human’s wicked activities. Unfortunately, these bad reports end up weakening the bones, and prevent the lifting up of holy hands in prayer and supplication to God. Whereas, the prayer closet is the always the reliable clinic for the sustenance of upward uprightness in life. Just as parents of rebellious children who rely on prayer as the support system cannot lose their stability in upward parenting, the righteous believers who rely on the throne of grace as the only source of good reports cannot fail in upward uprightness.

Honourable Honesty

  “ Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord! ” Psalms 149 : 5 - 9 NKJV In seasons of afflictions and persecution from a culture of dishonesty, “ Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds ” appears distasteful.
