Spirit Strength

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.” Acts 3:6-7 NKJV

Understandably, “Silver and gold I do not have” is not an attractive status expression in our competitive world. Unfortunately, those who are deprived of physical strength in life ((like financial strength, political prowess, academic intelligence, and social sagacity, etc) have no voice in the scheme of things. Perhaps, the likes of Peter and John of today wouldn’t have been permitted to even access the beautiful gate of the temple; needless to mention the inadmissible decoration of the gate with an impotent man. Notwithstanding, the emphasis here, and which rests in “what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth”, is the superiority of the spirit strength in believer’s day-to-day endeavour. Would God the human heart be graciously enabled to lame its physical strength, like this lame man at the beautiful gate and Mephibosheth before king David of old, in order to fully access the spirit strength and the kindness of God. We all need the absolute submission to the Will of God to embrace His nature for the complete manifestation of the name of Jesus Christ through our daily life’s engagements and relationships.
