Shame Seasoning

“And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:40-42‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Ordinarily, shame wears a bitter taste. Therefore, the prospects of shame bringing joy and refreshments are rear, especially when the motives behind most of human actions are not often pure. Meanwhile, characters like Ananias and Shapphira understand the deadly and damnable cost for their name-seeking and self-gratification services. Whereas, the apostles here provided a distinguishing exception for an experience of joy in moments of shame. Their services were entirely rendered for the name of Jesus, without personal or selfish coloration. Unfortunately, believers sometimes wear shame today not only for wrong services; but for promoting a bad taste with their over-zealous service offering. It is important to note that shame seasoning provides the perfect taste with just the motive of promoting the name of Jesus. When we have just the name of Jesus on our daily services to humanity, it is always impossible to get stopped by any serving of shame seasoning.
