Great God

“ It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore .” Psalms 18 : 47 - 48 , 50 NKJV The summary of the deliverance story for David and Job shows that the narrative is more about God than deliverance. Oftentimes, believers want deliverance so badly because of their pain, forgetting or underestimating the importance and impacts of the glory of God and the acknowledgement of His greatness. Whereas, the mercy of our great God always invites His beloved and submissive servants into the altar of sacrifice for the extension of His glory and greatness. Everyone needs to know by clear experience that God is greater than the greatest, higher than the highest, and wiser than the wisest; and God is always in short supply of sacrifices to un...

Wonderful Words

“ Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Matthew 24 : 35 NKJV God’s promises and revelations are wrapped up in His words; but how wonderful are the words of God? Imaging the passing of day and night, times and seasons, life events and circumstances, and compared with unchanging words of God in His promises and revelations. Yet, the entire heaven and earth will pass away without a scratch on the revealed counsels of God. How resolute and undoubted can believers of the wonderful words be, if we can truly believe? Unfortunately, like Job was put on a spot by God with “ Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it (Job 40 : 2 )”, life’s passing circumstances and challenges can twist every believer’s perception about the wonderful words of God. Therefore, let those who doubt the words of God pass away with the dynamic of heaven and earth. Whereas, true believers will daily hold unto God for the ...

Gracious Getting

“ Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. ” Proverbs 4 : 7 NKJV If all of life’s gettings are limited to all within the capabilities of man, there should be no surprise to the cause of arrogance and pride in the heart. But no, “ And in all your getting, get understanding”. Divine wisdom and understanding are totally exclusive of all the total combinations of life’s getting through human intelligence, skill acquisition, and material accomplishments. Even in counselling sessions with the sage of this world and inspirational delivery of sermons from anointed men of God, only those whose hearts are open to the Heavenly Father will download divine wisdom and understanding. Therefore, all human efforts to advance knowledge, improve standards, and solve life’s problems are commendable. But above and beyond these commendable efforts, let the hearts be always humble enough to download divine wisdom and understanding from the real...

Courageous Confidence

“ For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall. ” Psalms 18 : 28 - 29 NKJV Confidence in social media influencers is presently a thing in today’s world. Hype, music, fashion, and even entertainment can pull crowds; but most of these crowds are readily dispersed at the end of the season of celebration. In difficult times and seasons of affliction or the challenges of darkness, only courage can sustain a worthwhile confidence. Besides the Lord Jesus Christ, no leader of influence on earth is qualified to secure and sustain the confidence of his fellow human being perpetually. For example, the confidence of the psalmist in the Lord can be seen to earn him the courage to run against a troop of Philistines and leap over a wall in front of the ravaging Saul. Therefore, it is understandable why those whose confidence is in man are cowards. Whereas, even after 2,000 years of Christ’s influ...

Divine Deliverance

“ He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support.” Psalms 18 : 17 - 18 NKJV While reflecting on the root of deliverance from the book Obadiah that “ But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions (Obadiah 1 : 17 )”, it is interesting to observe the preeminence of holiness before true deliverance, and the possession of every believer’s possessions. The finger of God and His support system in the life and affairs of His children are predominant in the story of deliverance. “ He delivered me from my strong enemy…But the Lord was my support ” suggests that the sincere story of deliverance is more about the might of the Deliverer than about the miracles to the recipients of deliverance. Therefore, more often than not, the deliverance story from divine perspective is interested in th...

Sacred Stone

“ And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder. ”” Matthew 21 : 44 NKJV The reason why Emmanuel (or Immanuel) clicked more than my common name is the revelation of its meaning, i.e., the immanence of God. While the transcendence (or the existence of God apart from us and His non-subject to our material world) of God is merely revered by religious people, the immanence of God enhances the practice of His presence in believer’s everyday living and lifestyle. Notwithstanding, no one can truly practice the presence of God without first acknowledging, appreciating, and accepting Him as the sacred cornerstone to be fallen upon. Just as mountains tremble in the presence of God, the hardness and stubbornness in the heart of man are truly broken when we fall upon the sacred stone for mercy. Job did because he practiced the transcendence and immanence of God, while his friends and miserable comforters were limited by their practic...

Wise Walk

“ My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. ” Proverbs 3 : 21 - 23 NKJV Reflecting on the apprehensiveness in the script of most producers of scI-tech movies with rogue artificial intelligence (AI) machines, the common denominator is always the burden of trust. Trust comes from the place of confidence and love; and faith is trust in God that transforms all our other relationships, either with machines or men. Unfortunately, faith in the highest of principals, philanthropists, princes, and politicians, other than God, cannot guarantee rest of mind. But when the scriptures say “ Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck ”, it implies that it is only the sound wisdom and discretion from the Lord that can guarantee rest of mind. This is scriptural therapy against high blo...
