Shepherd-less Sheep
“And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.”
Mark 6:34 NKJV

Full-time engagements in the ministry or a dedicated commitment to the revealed will of God can sometimes results in depressing circumstances. If anyone appreciates the need for a time-out admonition for the excited and accomplished apostles that just returned from a successful outreach, it would be easy to understand why meeting Jesus is the only solution to every man’s hidden problems. While it is possible that the majority of the multitude that pursued Jesus and His disciples are numbered with those who testified to the mighty works under the ministrations of the apostles, Jesus still “was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd”. Obviously without a Shepherd, the apostles would have suffered spiritual exhaustion; and the multitude would have missed the true divine guidance. How often do we as teachers, parents, leaders, and instructors need the guidance of God and the resuscitations of strength from the Lord? Sincerely, it is both frustrating and fruitless to run the show of life at home, fellowship of people and workplaces without the seed of life from the Chief Shepherd.
