Distant Delight

“And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:61‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/114/luk.22.61.nkjv
The secret of managing long distance relationship by maintaining focus on Jesus appears evident in the bitter denial experience of Peter. Although the physical manifestation of Peter’s problem appeared to start with his decision to follow the arrested Jesus afar of, he had been much more earlier subdued by overconfidence and prayer-less boasting. Physically, the distant-following circumstances in life might be inevitable. The emotional and spiritual detachment from Jesus resulted in Peter’s distractions and an elevated appraisal of maid and servants as secret agents of the high priest, chief priests and elders that arrested Jesus. Whereas, even while Jesus was under intense pain and agonizing suffering for no wrong of His, the undefeated Lord and Master was emotional attached to Peter; and He had a moment to turn and look at the defeated Peter. Distance or no distance, the delight of the righteous overcomes distractions, being always in the Lord and the fulfillment of His Will. Unfortunately, conflicts in desires is often encouraged by long distance relationships, resulting in painful and regretful denial of the possible fulfillment of the glory of the Lord. Everyone needs faith to keep eyes on Jesus, even when it appears Jesus’ attention is painfully arrested and taken away.
