Self Starving

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” Luke 15:17-19 KJV

One of the salient lessons from the parable of the prodigal son is that  the consequence of taking a journey into a far country away from the Father is  self starving. Unfortunately, the same concept of self serving applied to the elder son who lived in the house of sufficiency, where he chose to delight in taking a journey of mind far away from the available resources in the house. Self serving is the motivation behind the feeding of every believer’s mind with anxiety, fear, and all forms of intimidation when the promises of God are loaded with faith, love and sound mind. Our enemy doesn’t have new strategies beside the distraction of the mind away from the sufficiency of grace in overcoming all his antics. But the moment the prodigal son came back to himself, the concept of self starving is turned to the comfort of soul sufficiency. When the spirit admonishes that every believer can do all things through Christ that strengthens, it takes only self starving for any these beloved of the Lord to feed on fear in the avalanche of the provisions of faith.
