Faith Following

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O LORD my God, Are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward: They cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Then said I, Lo, I come: In the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: Yea, thy law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:4-5, 7-8 KJV

Without prejudice to the people’s reflexes and natural instincts, faith fellowship appears synonymous to faith following; but they are actually different. Followership on X, Facebook, and even group chats can be docile, inactive, and ceremonial. Idle followers will pass for active fellowshipers, but have no contribution to issues of particular interest to members of the group; because they are merely followers by politeness and not by purpose. Likewise, active faith is known for its actions and not its acknowledgment. For example, the woman with an issue of blood, despite her battered experiences of failure and disappointment in the hands of fake healers, had faith in Jesus the Healer and she demonstrated her faith by touching the border of the Healer’s garment. Oftentimes, believers actively followed their fear of past failures, rejections, and disappointment to every encounter with the Saviour, Healer, and Deliverer. Whereas, faith following is a simple test of believers’ faith fellowship; we must always step forward with absolute resolve to do what God has inspired the hearts to do, without entertaining the fear of failure or disappointment. And the power of Christ’s resurrection will awaken all deadness in our families, ministries, businesses, and relationships with our faith following.
