Just Judge
“The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: Verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.” Psalm 58:10-11 KJV
Preference for hasty joy over hopeful joy does appear to be the cause of the drawbacks experienced in the pursuit of righteousness. Who wait for “The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance“, when wickedness attracts the frequent paycheques in everyday social lifestyles, societal politics, marketplace interactions? Unfortunately, many partners, principals, and peers who are privileged with material riches and positions of authority have assumed the roles of the unjust judges in our world. And when hopeful joy delays its rewards, the righteous are quick to hang their boots on righteousness, uprightness, and steadfastness with godly services. Whereas, hopeful joy requires waiting upon the Lord through consistent meditation on the promises of provision, preservation, and protection; and ceaseless praying for strength to hold on to “Verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth”. Actually, hopeful joy derives its hope in an intimate relationship with God; the release and readiness of the righteous reward are often not the consideration of a true belief in our just judge.
