Best Bond

I“For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have born it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him: As for me, I will call upon God; And the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: And he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:12, 16-17 KJV

When Jesus asked Judas Iscariot “betrayeth thou the Son of man with a kiss?”, it merely aligned with the psalmist’s pain around the common searching for the best bond in life. Being a social animal, intimate relationships and trust are built around closeness along the bloodline, business, family, workplaces, residences, etc. Unfortunately, with an inevitable betrayal experience in relationships, many people do appear to throw in the towel on trust with hasty generalizations. Whereas, life is not to be lived with the screwed up understanding of putting the burden of the best bond on human beings, no matter the assigned or designed intimacy. The believer’s best bond is always God; and any relationship, where at least one of the parties makes God the best bond, is not likely to suffer a breaking betrayal. Jesus knows about our pains in every relationship with the people in our lives; so a perfect bond with Jesus in the place of prayer and meditation on His promises is always the best against breaking during betrayals.
