Father’s Favour

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Luke 2:49, 52 KJV

The concept of godfatherism is so twisted today that people can rarely believe it is scriptural. Yes, the concept of godfatherism applied to Jesus because He had favour with man (the ‘godfather’), howbeit after securing favour with God the Father. Unfortunately, the problem with the twist today is that people often opt only for godfather’s favour at the expense of the Father’s favour. Whether in politics, business, and social relationships, the business of godfathers (at the expense of the Father’s business) is dishonesty, disobedience, and diplomacy. And the moment a believer demands a simple bailout from the godfather’s business, all red carpets are expected to be pulled. But the right answer from all godfathers to the sober question “How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?” remains “make sure all businesses align with the Father’s business…which is salvation of all souls”. And as parents, partners, and principals, whenever we make sure our demands for loyalty do not violate the Father’s business, we will always enjoy the Father’s favour in addition to godfather’s favour.
