Lawful Life
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:8-9 KJV
The right perspective of liberty is freedom from oppression and right to free decisions and the dignity of life in any system. Whenever this liberty is misconstrued as licentiousness or lawlessness, the system becomes unsafe. Invariably, a lawful life is designed for a guided enjoyment of all resources within the system, with a careful escape from the interference of evil and wickedness within the system. Therefore, when God said to Joshua “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein“, He was handing out the principle of success, prosperous living, ministerial engagement, and professional breakthrough for the Israelites under the leadership of Joshua. When a life embraces the guidance of the Lord in all his daily endeavour and engagement, he is saying ‘I am not a fool to think I can make it without you’. Unfortunately, lawlessness is simply foolishness: “He that hideth hatred with lying lips, And he that uttereth a slander, is a fool (Proverbs 10:18)”. Whereas, a lawful life is a guaranteed long life that is inspired daily by the law of the Lord on how to make decisions in relationships with people, residency with places, and recognition of prospects in line with God’s purpose for his existence.
