Wilful Work

Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded. And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it:” Exodus 36:1-2 KJV

Parents who struggled with self-willed (or strong-willed) children and wards are often encouraged to grow up with a positive perspective on the strength of wilfulness. When God inspired the hearts of man into His own service, every wise hearted man becomes a positive demonstration of wilfulness. For example, Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man in the camp of Moses in the wilderness were dutifully engaged by God and not necessarily Moses. It implies that life is simply a mixed collection of wilful and wasteful works, depending on the source of inspiration or motivation. Therefore, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with self-wilfulness, if the self is overtly submissive to the will of God.  When the wilful work that life is engaged in aligns with the purpose of God, wastefulness is completely cancelled from that man’s bibliography. Thereafter, the wilful work becomes the work and every associate, partner, and companion is taught how to recognize and appreciate both the inspiration and incidence of God in the work. And no matter the interrogation and interruption of the wilful work of men against the wilful work of God, consistent recognition of the inspiration and incidence of the spirit of God enforces the sovereignty and supremacy of God.
