Resetting Rest

“And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.” Mark 6:30-31 KJV

Besides going to Church every Sunday as a symbolism of keeping the Sabbath day, appearances in God’s presence as a congregation provides the opportunity of worship and spiritual refreshment. Actually, a fruitful child of God has a faithful fellowship with God every day. The disciples here had narrated to Jesus Christ how they had performed on the mission field, expecting commendations…but a communion with God for spiritual nourishment was rather recommended. Likewise today, life readily serves consistent engagement at home, workplaces, and the society. And without a conscious take on the resetting rest, faithful workers are commended with more work and responsibilities without refreshments. Beyond the casual subscription for physical refreshments and relaxation, resetting rest offers a strategic access into the presence of God for a balanced review of His purpose and promises towards the attainment of greater performance. What God has done and intends to do through His vessels as battle axes and weapons of war come alive more during the quiet time, rather than during their favourite exchanges in loud times.
