Dress Deliverance
““But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother In the day of his captivity; Nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah In the day of their destruction; Nor should you have spoken proudly In the day of distress. “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” Obadiah 1:12, 17 NKJV
Unknown to Edom and the aggrieved brother turned sworn enemy of Israel, the day of distress for the beloved of the Lord is a dress deliverance. They have chosen to party and put on their dancing shoes on the day of Israel’s distress because of their failure to identify the miracle on Mount Zion. There is always something unique about Mount Zion for those who choose to approach the Hill of God with faith in their hearts. God’s deliverance on Mount Zion has nothing to do with the depravity of the believers’ sins and unrighteousness, but everything to do with their faith in the finished work of grace that brings salvation without servitude. Therefore, before you go judge anyone by his unrighteousness on the day of distress, just imagine the fact that this day of distress is a dress deliverance on the basis of his faith in Mount Zion, the finished work of grace or redemption through Christ. Is your faith on Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith and deliverance; or your confidence is based on your apparent freedom from the day of distress?
