Done Deal
“And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.” Nehemiah 2:18 NKJV
Human activities, engagements, and relationships are all governed by deals, albeit with varying understanding of the terms and conditions. Unfortunately, not many people understand that all of human deals are subservient to divine deal, until their violations of the heavenly deals attract retribution, damnation, and the final declaration “Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!”” (Revelation 16:17). It implies that while all human deals are decorative, life’s engagement on the divine deal is the only ‘done deal’ for commendation or condemnation. Even while Nehemiah was fully engaged in Shushan the citadel palace as the king’s cupbearer, he recognized the superiority of the done deal when it beckoned. Like Nehemiah responding to the done deal by his immediate engagement with God in prayer, it is important to note that the done deal is influenced by faith in the good hands of the Lord. The decorative deals from all human engagements can accommodate either the grievous or generous hands of the earth’s greatest of men, but only the good hands of the Lord can guarantee a fruitful done deal for glorious accomplishments.
